Weekly Wishes

Hey everyone!  Happy Monday to you all! I hope you had a great weekend.

I spent a lot of time at home this weekend, which is what I  prefer to do :)  I am newly obsessed with The Big Bang Theory so I watched a some a lot of that.  On Saturday night Nick came home from work and told me we were going on a date.  He proceeded to blind fold me and drive around until he eventually stopped at the Alamo Drafthouse.  Surprise!  This is one of my favorite theaters to go to in Austin and we just got one here in West Texas.  I had been hinting that we should go but Nick kept on saying that maybe we should wait until the new-ness died down and it wasn't so busy.  He got me.  We saw Transcendence.  My verdict is to wait until it's on DVD but it wasn't too bad.  The food was good though, of course.

But anyway, now onto weekly wishes!

Last week I wanted to…
  • Update my electronics - oops!  I didn't do this.  In my defense I think I am going to get a new phone in a month or so, so… why spend the time on that ;)
  • start a new book - check!  I started Cold Tangerines by Shauna Niequist.  I loved Bittersweet so much that I thought I'd read this one too.  Her books feel like spending time with a good friend so how could I not?
  • Clean out more! - Did it!  I went through my closets again and found even more stuff I need to get rid of.  The crazy thing is that I have more to get rid of than I actually want to keep.  I even got Nick in on the action :)  Our motivation is to get stuff cleaned out before we have to move again… which could be anytime!
I did pretty good last week!  I was pretty busy so I had to really make time but it felt so good to actually get it done!

So, this week…
  • Get everything in order before I go to Austin.  I have to get my car inspected (my inspection has been expired for months, yikes!), get my oil changed, pay rent, order new contacts, find someone to watch our pups, pack, clean, etc.  If I spend too much time thinking about it I'm sure I'll think of something else I need to do!
  • Get more sleep.  I have been getting out of the good habit of going to sleep at a decent hour.  I want to get that back in check before it gets too far.
  • Finish my book and start a new one!  I have my goal of reading 100 books before I turn 30 so I don't want to waste any time :)
What are your goals this week?

Over The Weekend

Hello guys!  I hope that your weekend was lovely!

I did a little of this and that.

I went to the Art Trail on Friday night with N.  It was a unique night of wine and good art and some particularly bizarre art, and trolleys, and downtown gallivanting.

Ya know, fulfilling things.

I'd like to take a moment to say that I am truly impressed at the ballsy-ness of some of the artists.  Even deep in the middle of conservative country, those guys made some art that brought a blush to my little cheeks (so not pictured).  So bravo and for shame!  At the same time.

On Saturday we made the little trek to a town called Littlefield, TX to see N's grandparents. And I'm telling ya, what a little town it is!

I always complain that my town is small, but really, 200,000 isn't that small.  Just compared to Austin, ya know.

But Littlefield, my gosh.  It covers a whopping 6 square miles and houses 6,400 people.  And I'm guessing about a million cotton farms.  That stuff's big around here, you guys.

And it's charming in a way.  In a 'lets go for a little visit' kind of way.

And I'll give it to them, the Pizza Classic made a good pie.

And oh Sunday, my Sunday.  I love a good blogging Sunday.  I wrote some posts for this week since I will be living it up in the 512 this week (that would be Austin, TX, y'all).  Annnnnnd I put together a little doo-hickey that I linked at the end of this post.

Right here:

Come check out what's going down on Wednesday!

Over the Weekend

Oh what a weekend!  I hope everyones was lovely as well.  It included a lot of down time, puppy bonding, eating, and cuddling.

This monday I am linking up with Samis Shenanigans and synfully delicious for a few over the weekend posts!

My best friend and I took my pups out to the park for a walk in the 70 degree weather.  70 DEGREES.  I am in heaven right about now.

Nick took me to Triple J, a gorgeous, delicious, chop house and brewery in our little town.  The entire place really is just picturesque - really made me wish I had brought my good camera.  Needless to say, we will be returning.

And then, before the 70 degree weather there was a blizzard.  Golly knows how I'm not sick with all the extreme weather changes here.

And picture proof of the best brunch ever.  Like seriously, pastry heaven in that bowl.

Monday Finds Me Peaceful

Good morning and happy Monday to you all!  I hope you had a happy, peaceful few days.

This weekend was one large blur.  It was a little bit of puppy drama, a chunk of strange, mystery sickness and the resulting antibiotics, some sporadic working, and wildly strange sleep patterns.  All this, bundled up into an unfortunate mess made the weekend a bit of a bummer.  But never fear, there is always a silver lining to being under the weather - Nick's display of nurturing skills.  Because really, what is sweeter than a man doing everything he can to make you feel just the tiniest bit better.  So I can't really feel down when I am reminded how blessed I am - all thanks to this icky little stomach bug-ish thing.

Then I remember what this week and this month has to offer and I just can't wait. So many things are coming to realization that I don't even know what to think.  Im mostly excited and just a little bit nervous to see where these changes take me but I am slowly but surely learning to let go and find peace knowing that what is meant to be will be.  But more on this later...

Right now I'd like to know how your weekend was.  Tell me something good!

Life Lately, According to My Instagram

Hello everyone!  I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend.  I definitely did seeing as I spent it celebrating the fact that my flu was gone!  And trying to take some pictures since last weeks I-can't-get-out-of-bed-I-hate-the-flu left little time for actual picture taking.

This week I have the wonderful opportunity to join up with Life on Leroy and The Weekend File and be a co-host for this week's Life Lately Link Up!  Thank you ladies!  Now let's get to the goods...

My little Ellie in her dapper little bow-tie

The snow as it was just starting!  Man alive, I looooove snow, you guys.

The weekend attire.

I found a seriously old copy of White Fang as we were antique shopping.  Score.

I finally got around to unpacking and realized that I have an unusual amount of blankets and pillows.  #ineedhelp

And this, ladies and gents, is the only picture I took during the flu week.  My dog really cares about me - puppy kisses all around.

So, what is your life looking like lately?  Let us know and link up!

Over the Weekend

I had a mostly relaxing weekend, with a little bit of work making its way in there - but yeah, got to make money some how.  So other than boring posts about my work life, here's what went down.

I got everything moved out of my old apartment and crammed into Nick's spare bedroom.  It's in limbo right now awaiting its move to OUR new place in a few months.

I finally got Nick to take down his christmas "tree".

Saturday night snacks - success!  I went to our brand new, fancy grocery store and now I won't be shopping anywhere else.

My friend gave me some valentines socks.  Pretty socks. Not exactly warm, but very pretty.

And this is what I did last night.  I spent a wonderful Sunday night wining, reading, and eating while the boyfriend played Call of Duty and the pups took turns trying to get a sip of my wine.  Silly puppies.

So how was your weekend?  Wonderful, I hope!

Hey guys, I'm linking up with The Weekend File and Life on Leroy for their bi-weekly Life Lately.
