Some Words for your Friday

So, life has been a little bit hectic this week and probably will for a few more so today I am simply bringing you some inspirational words.

I read this the other day and it really stuck with me.  Not because it is so profound and moving but because it is so simple.  It's simple but yet it is all encompassing and spells out, right there, the things that I strive for in my life.

Do you ever feel like you’re just waiting? You know, waiting to see where God will take you next, waiting to find the one you will marry, or waiting for the day to end so you can go home.

Do you feel stuck in the waiting? As women it’s so easy to feel stuck in the season that we are in. Cause let’s be honest we all want to know what’s planned next, this is where we find comfort because we know what’s ahead so we are confident that it will all work out. When we don’t know the plan that is when we begin to doubt ourselves and we lose faith in his plans for our lives. We lose trust in the plans that he has so carefully set out for us.

When we begin to doubt this is when we should take our doubts and give them to God in prayer. Because sisters, his faithfulness is unfailing, it never changes, he is always right there when we need him even when were in a time of “waiting”.

Rest in the Truth that Psalm 26:2-3 provides. Let it resonate on your heart as you are waiting, and remember that he always meets us right where we are no matter what season.

“Prove me, O Lord, and try me; test my heart and mind. For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness.”

 

Words for Your Saturday

Okay, so this isn't exactly inspirational but I am in the process of going through my home and paring down.  I am trying to focus on quality, not quantity.  Buy better, buy less.  And above all, making sure that it is beautiful to me.

Dreams and Congressmen and Weekends! Oh My.

This weekend I heard a commencement speech by Congressman Ted Cruz and it was absolutely wonderful.  It was appropriately inspiring and funny and just all around a beautiful cumulation of ideas, well presented.  

But I didn't come here just to say that!  What struck me most about his speech was what he said about freedom and how this wonderful privilege provides the perfect foundation for dreams to blossom.  There was talk about the American dream and how the most amazing thing about it is that it is so commonplace.  And really, isn't this true?  This country was build on the American dream.  We are all here, on this soil because someone in our family, be it generations ago or years ago, decided to start out and try to be something else, somewhere else.  And isn't blogging similar? Blogging is a little branch off of the American dream in my book.  How simple is it to start a blog and write and create a community where formerly there was none?   And maybe it is a stretch but I like to think that this is a small, small way of pioneering something for myself.  And isn't is super exciting to think of it that way?  

So I leave you with the few words above by Elanor Roosevelt. Big, beautiful dreams people.
