Friday Favorites

One I love looking inside people's homes (like the socially acceptable, home tour type of way, of course) and I love Austin so naturally I was super excited to see this home tour from a fellow Austinite. Represent! Two This Lulu and Georgia pillow has my name written alllllll over it. Like front, back, down the side, and probably on the stuffing too. Three When I find something I like I usually stick with it and such is the case with these flats. I've been through two pair and just ordered my third. Why mess with a good thing? Four Have you heard Colbie Caillat's song Try? If not you really should give it a listen, I think you'll really love it. She's kind of perfect, right? Five And let's wrap this up with something I'd love to wrap up in… this scarf. It's equal parts cozy and… plaid. And I've had a very large thing going on for plaid. I guess that's that.

We have quite a few plans this weekend. Tonight Nick and I are going "ring" shopping. Like the ring shopping. He wants to make sure that he chooses one that I love so we are going to pick out a few that I like and he'll take it from there. Then we plan on going to Gamestop. Yeah, you did read that right. My guilty pleasure is nerdy games. On Saturday we are headed down to the coast to have an early Thanksgiving with my family, do some fishing, and I hope to do a little work on my shop. I am planning a post about the shop next week or the week after - I am super excited to finally get this going!

What are your weekend plans? Anything exciting?

Let's Give it Another Go!

Okay, here we go again, back to blogging!

So, where was I? Short story, I got distracted. The long story is that I have been working a lot on life things. I have been meaning to rebrand my jewelry shop and take it up a notch, a goal I have made a lot of progress on in the past few months. In addition to that I have been focusing on my family and planning for the future. Blogging slipped, a lot.

So, what now? Now, I'm back and I don't plan on going anywhere. Really, I pinky promise. I want this to be a positive place full of inspiration. I'm pumped and ready to go!

Sound okay?

Great.

That's all I have for now… stay tuned for more coming this week! XO

My New Apartment and Sam's Club

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and Sam’s Club. All opinions are mine alone.

So we have moved into and (mostly) unpacked and decorated our very first place in Austin, TX.  It's been a fun few months and we owe a good deal of our ease of transition to Sam's Club. Let me explain...

As some of you may know, Nick and I moved to Austin at the end of July.  It was a whirlwind move. We decided to move and two weeks and a lot of effort later, we were here.  My parents still live in Austin so they graciously let us stay there while we looked for a place to live.

A little over a month ago we officially moved into our new apartment! If you know anything about me then you know that I have a serious affinity for decorating and for getting my adobe into tip top shape. I kind of obsess over my decor, make lists on top of lists, pin countless ideas on pinterest, and generally make a huge deal out of decorating any place that I live.  I kind of wish that I had infinite amount of time ponder all the decor ideas.  I also kind of wish that I had an unlimited budget.  Sadly, neither are the case.

But, you guys, I have stumbled onto something, let me tell ya.

Back in the day, when I moved into my first apartment, my mom and I went looking for a couch and ended up buying one from Sam's Club. I expected to use it for a year or two and then find another couch once I graduated.  Turns out, this couch has lasted through college and then some… and it's still going strong! I kind of love it.

So, seeing as my track record was pretty good, I decided to get my own Sam's Club membership and see how Sam's could help me stick to my budget without compromising on the things I really wanted. Great decision.

I was browsing the other day and I was stopped in my tracks because right there, in the aisle in front of me were the industrial stools that I had been wanting for quite a while. I do this a lot though, I see something that I love only to realize that they are out of my price range, so I tried not to get too excited just yet.  But that was literally only for a minute because when I checked the price I couldn't believe it. Literally, they were $9. The bar stools that I had been pining over that sell for over $100 a piece at some places, were a whopping $32 for the four that I needed. Done and done.

And that is what got me started.

If by some magic I found these stools here, at a steal, who know how many other amazing finds were waiting. So I went searching. And by searching a mean that I walked down the aisles and found great deals everywhere. My second favorite find was this white garden stool:

It had been on my list and lo and behold, I found one! During that trip found tons of goodies for our new place so I had to bring Nick along and let him see for himself why I loved it so much. Clearly, he had a good time as well.

As awesome as finding affordable things for my home is, Sam's club has even more to offer!  With your Sam's membership you get special instant savings on things throughout the store, you can get discounts on fuel purchases, they provide special health benefits such as health screenings, exceptional members only services, and you can save so much money by buying the things you need at Sams. Not to mention you can do this all in once place, so there's that.

Want to try Sam's Club for yourself? You're in luck! They are having an open house and you're invited! Find more information about signing up and joining Sam's Club here.

Have you ever been to Sam's Club? How did you like it?

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Favorites

This past weekend I made it a point to hit up the Nordstrom anniversary sale and found quite a few goodies! There have been tons of posts about this so it may be a bit overdone but I love a good sale post, so here we are. I feel like I've probably looked through every single item they have on sale so when I tell you these are my most favorites, I'm for real :)

Do you like shopping the anniversary sale? Did you find anything good?!

Weekly Wishes

Happy monday, everyone!  I hope your weekend was great :) My Saturday was spent down on the Texas Coast attending my baby cousin's wedding. Only 21 years old, seriously! It was a gorgeous wedding complete with a photo booth, which my family took complete advantage of. Sunday we lounged around the house, did a little yard work and I hit up the Nordstrom Anniversary sale online (which was great, by the way!) I'll have some of my favorite items for y'all this week!

Anyway, on to Weekly Wishes! I'm a spotty participator so I don't have anything to report from last week because I didn't make any goals last week. Oops! So, let's just jump right on in with this week.

one. work on getting my photography site up and running. Right now I need to complete my portfolio and add packages and pricing and then it should be ready to go! I'm pretty excited about this, it's something I've been wanting to do for quite a while now, and it is finally becoming a reality.

two. give my dogs a bath. This should be an easy one but for some reason I can never pin myself down to really do it. If you follow me on instagram then you know that I picked them up some new collars (what? you don't buy your pups new collars every few months?!) and I'm treating it like so: they need a bath before they can wear their new clothes. So yeah, a bath this week is a must.

three. Do some DIYs. I have a stock pile of DIY ideas that I never get around to. This week I hope to break out the supplies and make something fun!

What are your goals this week?
