Over the Weekend + The Past Few Weeks + Weekly Wishes

Hey you guys, happy Monday!  I hope that your weekend was wonderful and you all had a blessed Easter!

As you may know I took a little blog break.  It was unexpected.  I took a few days off accidentally and then a few days off intentionally and it turned into a two-ish week break.  Nothing crazy happened, I just felt the need to take a little breather.  I guess I was feeling a little bit defiant against my blog.  Weird.  Do you ever get that?

I took the time to think about why that was and I came up with a theory.  I lost sight of myself a little bit.  Sometimes I feel like blogging and just being so tapped into the internet culture in general makes the line between what you really enjoy and what you think you should enjoy a bit blurry.  It's taxing to try to fit yourself into the mold of something you aren't.  This little break helped me to clear my head and refocus.

I said a few posts back that I wanted to take my blog in a different direction, even if it's just slightly different.  At this point I don't know what that is, but I have a few ideas.  I am going to take it slow and see where it goes.

And now… onto weekly wishes.

This week my goals are…

  1. Start a new book.  I just finished reading the Goldfinch (loved it!) and I am on the hunt for a new one.
  2. Clean out more!  I have been cleaning out like a mad woman but I know that there is still more stuff that I can get rid of, stuff that is just sitting there.  My little brother is getting close to moving out of my parent's house so I know he'll need some stuff ;)
  3. Update my electronics.  I have yet to update my iPhone and iPad to that new iOS.  I don't even remember which one it was but you know, that big one a while back.  Yeah, I haven't done that yet.  I've been putting it off but hopefully this week!
What are your goals this week?

  1. Welcome back lovely! Sometimes a little break is all it takes to come back refreshed. I have the Goldfinch on my list to start next, so I'm glad to hear you loved it. Good luck with this week's wishes - it's always such a good feeling to have everything updated!

  2. I used to do these weekly wishes and I slowly got away from doing them. I think I need to get back into them since I am trying to get my life on a for independent path after ending a long relationship. Anyways, I love your wishes! How was the book the Goldfinch? I've never heard of it. I'm currently reading The Paris Wife and it has been a great read so far. Cleaning is always a good thing to have on the list.
